A study of Understanding Graphics Present Situation and Strategy inElementary School Junior Mathematics-A case study of S Primary School in Suqian CityAbstract "Figure understanding"is an important part of "figure and geometry"in primary schoolmathematics teaching.Leaming this part well plays an important role in cultivating students'abstract thinking,spatial concept and practical operation ability.Taking Suqian s primary schoolas an example,through interviews,questionnaires and other ways,it is found that in the teachingof "figure understanding",there are some problems in the teaching,such as teachers'unclearteaching objectives,teaching content divorced from the reality of life,unreasonable design ofhands-on operation and other teaching links,single form of classroom questions,and low interestin learning.The main causes of the problems are that the teachers don't understand the teachingobjectives deeply,the teachers don't prepare lessons well,the students have poor self-controlability,ignore the modem education evaluation method,and the students don't have a highinterest in learning "graphics".Therefore,it puts forward corresponding solutions to enrichteaching activities,reasonably design hands-on operation links,stimulate students'interest inlearning,diversify teaching evaluation methods,respect each student,fully prepare lessons,reasonably analyze the teaching objectives and contents of "understanding of graphics"and linkthem with the reality of life,so as to give life flavor.Key words Understanding of Figure Junior Grade Space Concept
