Research on the promotion effect of international exhibition onregional economic growth In Xiamen region,for exampleAbstractAs the early cities in China that take exhibition industry as the development center to driveregional economic development,Xiamen,nowadays possesses a great deal of advantage suchas superior exhibition environment,relatively perfect exhibition facilities,effective supportivepolicies and adequate service guarantee,etc.,which,for example,in Xiamen region,make itmeaningful to research the promotion effect of international exhibition on regional economicgrowth.As a typical area,in this article,Xiamen region has been selected to research,collectand sort out the time series data of Correlation variable quantity of the exhibition industry andregional economy from 2003 to 2018.Through the establishment of VEC model,it isconcluded that the numbers of conferences and exhibitions held in Xiamen play a positiverole to promote regional economic development.Conclusion has been made by theestablishment of the Grey Relational Model that the development of convention andexhibition industry make a close correlation with the promotion of the output value of tertiaryindustry,especially with the increase of the financial industry and the transportation industry.Finally,based on the results of the empirical research,give some reasonable countermeasuresand suggestions to improve the promotion effect that Xiamen's international convention andexhibition industry to regional economic growth.Keywords:international convention and exhibition industry;Regional economy;VECmodel;Grey Relational Model
