Research on the Problems and Countermeasures of Decimal Teaching in Middleand Senior Grades-Taking JL Elementary School in Nanjing as an ExampleAbstract The decimal teaching exerts a significant part in the teaching field of number andalgebra,which broadens the comprehension of the concept of number to students and is anindispensable part of associating the content of integer and fraction.The efficiency in decimalteaching contributes to cultivating students'ability of thinking and promoting the comprehension ofthe calculating principles,which is also conducive to improving teachers'teaching abilities.TakingJL elementary school in Nanjing as an example,by interviews,questionnaires,observation andother investigative methods,it is found that there exist cases in the decimal teaching,such assuperficial understanding of the teaching objectives by teachers and unvaried designs ofclassroom methods.Moreover,improper handling of classroom problems,and defects inevaluation methods are included too.The main causes of the problems are the weakness ofteachers'research spirits,narrow comprehension of educational concepts,as well as the lack ofmathematics literacy and evaluation consciousness.In order to solve these problems in decimalteaching,it is necessary to clearly understand the teaching objectives and enrich the classroomteaching methods.What's more,attention should be paid to the handling of classroom problemsand teaching evaluation exercises should be boosted as well.Merely in this way can we exactlyimprove the classroom efficiency the effect of decimal teaching.Key wordsElementary Mathematics Comprehension of Decimals Decimal CalculationDecimal Teaching
