Study on Fathers'Participation in Child-rearingAbstract In children's overall development,fathers are as important as mothers,though theyplay different roles.Better education depends on parents'joint effort.However,the conflictbetween the increasing requirement of child-growing and the loss of fathers'participation becomesa problem which has ever been solved for a long time.The research takes 3-6 years old children'sfathers in Sugian City,in Jiangsu Province as research objects,in order to know the present stateof fathers'taking part in children raising.The research focuses on the analysis of fathers'behaviorin child raising and what factor influences fathers'behavior greatly.Result of the research shows:Firstly,fathers'opinions on participating in children rearing are pretty right,but they show lessconfidence and underestimate their statue in childhood education.Secondly,fathers'action ofrearing children in different dimension is not the same.The highest score of 6 dimensions whichfathers are involved in is 'indirect support'(M=4.04)and the lowest one is'self-enhancement'(M=2.80).Thirdly,there are several key factors,for example,children's agefathers'workplace nature,etc.However,the relationship between fathers'participation and chid'ssex,fathers'age and salary is not significant.Last but not least,the study makes a fewpropositions for fathers,other family members and kindergartens in order to enhance the fatherparticipation.Key words Father 3-6 years old children Participation in child-rearing
