An empirical analysis of FDI to Guangzhou's economicgrowthAbstractSince the reform and opening up,China has always attached special importance to the use offoreign direct investment.As the business center of our country,guangzhou is no exception.Thetotal foreign trade volume of guangzhou increased from 134 million us dollars in 1978 to morethan 145 billion us dollars in 2018,with an average annual growth rate of 19.1%.Over the past 40years,guangzhou has approved the establishment of 35,691 foreign-invested enterprises,withcontracted foreign investment of 175.153 billion us dollars and actually utilized foreigninvestment of 93.126 billion us dollars.According to the data displayed,in 2019,greater than10000 enterprises made direct investment in Guangzhou enterprises,with a year-on-year growthof 40%.In 2019,the total investment was US $13.39 billion,ranking the first in China.The totalinvestment in 2019 is 13.39 billion us dollars,ranking the top in China.In recent years,the inflow of foreign capital has stimulated the development of the tertiaryindustry in many ways,increases the added value of the tertiary industry,and promotes theoptimization of China's industrial structure.The fiscal revenue quality of guangzhou city wasimproved,and the income growth of city and rural households is stable.With the continuousimprovement of the quality and scope of foreign direct investment,Guangzhou's GDP and percapita GDP have maintained stable growth and steady economic development.However,The Yangtze river delta heart on Shanghai has a strong economic strength,a broadmarket and a broad market potential,creating a good investment environment,and foreign directinvestment is rapidly rising.Compared with the EU and the US,guangzhou is still a little short ofattracting investment.This essay mainly studies the relevance between fdi and economic increment in guangzhou.Based on the empirical analysis of the GDP growth status and amount of foreign capital actuallyused in guangzhou from 2010 to 2019,it is concluded that FDI has constructive influence on theeconomic growth of guangzhou.On this basis,the essay brings forward some countermeasures onhow to pullulate the economy of guangzhou more smoothly and quickly.Key words:foreign direct investment:economic growth:
