The Investigation and Research on the Present Situation andImprovement Strategies of the Reading Teaching of Ancient ChinesePoetry-Taking Suqian S Elementary School as an exampleAbstract With the new curriculum reform,teachers pay more and more attention tothe teaching of ancient poetry and prose,and the way of reading ancient poetry and prosehas become the focus of teachers'attention.How to make students get moreunderstanding in reading and improve students'ability to learn ancient poetry is the focusof teachers'reflection in teaching.Primary school students'learning is in the stage oftransformation from concrete thinking to abstract thinking,but the cognitive way still hascertain concreteness,and teachers choose the appropriate teaching method and content,which is more conducive to students'reading of ancient poetry and prose.Based on theinvestigation of the present situation of the teaching of ancient poetry and prose in thesenior grade of primary school,this paper mainly adopts the literature method and theinvestigation method.Taking Suqian S primary school as an example,the senior teachersand students of this primary school are sampled and some teachers are interviewed.Theinvestigation mainly starts from the teacher's teaching present situation and the student'sstudy condition.Through the investigation,the causes of the existing problems in thecurrent situation are analyzed,and finally the targeted guidance strategies are putforward.Key words Ancient poetry reading instruction primary school students seniorclass guiding strategy
