A study on the influence of the background of the head teacher on thepupils'interest in Mathematics LearningAbstract Learning interest is not only the internal power of students'activelearning,but also an important part of pupils'mathematical literacy.The teacher in chargeis one of the key factors affecting the interest of primary school students in mathematics.The subject background of the teacher in charge of a class inevitably affects the students'academic performance and subject preference.The main contents of this paper include the following three aspects:First of all,It theoretically explains the important significance of the interest inmathematics study to the primary school students'mathematics study and the formationof their mathematics literacy,based on the existing research literature,it is pointed outthat there are many factors that affect elementary school students'math learning,thesubject background of the head teacher is one of the important factors affecting students'interest in mathematics,we should attach great importance to it.Secondly,through the purpose sampling in M primary school,two classes wereselected for questionnaire survey,and the head teacher and some students wereinterviewed.Based on the results of the questionnaire and interview,it was found that (1)The head teacher's academic background influences the pupils'interest in mathematics;(2)Because the teacher in charge of Chinese course didn't know the students'learningsituation and didn't form the general subject quality,he had a negative impact on thestudents'interest in mathematics learning.Finally,Suggestions are made according to the results of the survey (1)teacherswith different subject backgrounds should improve their general quality and professionalawareness;(2)the head teacher should have a correct attitude towards the subject andmake good use of the characteristics of his own subject to promote the overalldevelopment of students'subjects;(3)Treat all students fairly and equally in teaching.Key words Primary school mathematics Interest in Learninghead teacherDiscipline background
