毕业论文Church.Every morning on Sunday,people all over America go to church for religiousservices,neatly dressed and piously.Theology is one of the two mainstays of modern American civilization.Ninetypercent of Americans living in the modern society have religious beliefs(董小川,2000).In Europe,religious faith is weakened by the advancement of science,economic development,and the never-ending improvement of material livingstandards,.but in America,it is not affected so much as it is in Europe(朱永涛,l99l:345).Christianity and the Bible are essential parts of western traditional culuture andfundamentally foundations in many aspescts throughtout the western world.Christians believe that the Bible is the "word of God"to mankind.God speaks tothem through his "word"and thereby gives them wisdom,knowledge,and guide linein daily life.The Bible is the ultimate authority on God and all matters of theChristian life and salvation.It reflects politics,history,law,philosophy,biology,custom,literature,etc.,in ancient Hebrew and ancient Greece.It is called anencyclopedia to antiquity.This thesis fucous on the relationship between the biblical stories and Englishstudy.First,it shows the Bible's influence on English.Language is the carrier ofculture.Because of cultural differences,different kinds of languages have their owncharacteristics with the development of history.Then it gives some biblical stories asexamples to support the following analysis of the Bible's impact on English study.
