AbstractChiral liquid crystal elastomers have been extensively studied in the field of materials inconsequence of their unique characteristics originated from the atomic chiral centers andhelical conformations,which make them promising for applications in displays,solar-energyharvesting,optics and photonics,and biomedicine.The properties of chiral liquid crystalelastomers are greatly affected by the crosslinking agents of chiral liquid crystal.In this study,4-hydroxyphenyl-4-allyloxybenzoate camphoric acid diester was synthesized by ether-esterreaction.Through the FTIR and H-NMR to study the chemical structure and liquid crystalproperties of the crosslinking agent,the results indicate that the structure of the liquid crystalcrosslinking agent accords with the molecular design.Through the Differential scanningcalorimeter(DSC)and POM to analyze the texture and the characteristics of the crosslinkingagent.Experimental result indicates that the crosslinking agent is a cholesteric phase with awide liquid crystal phase range and it has a good application value in the synthesize of novelchiral liquid crystal elastomers.Key words:liquid crystal;crosslinking agent;chiral;liquid crystal elastomersΠ
