The study on the anti-influenza activity of bismuth nanoparticlesAbstractInfluenza epidemics have become a global public health challenge.Recent years, seasonalflu has killed between 290,000 and 650,000 people annual year.Currently, the mainanti-influenza drugs are neuraminidase inhibitors. However, due to the characteristics ofvirus mutation, the drug-resistant strains are also on the rise. While, the nanomedicine arestill in the initial stage, and the research on bismuth as an antiviral drug is almost blank.Atpresent, this paper mainly studies the anti-influenza virus B activity of nano bismuth oxideThe results showed that the average size of the particle of the prepared bismuth oxidenanoparticles was about 60-70nm,with good morphology and suitable particle size.Thehemagglutination test results showed that TCIDso is 10-5.25/100 L.The results of qRT-PCRexperiment showed that the addition of bismuth oxide had no significant effect on the PCRresults. The results of cytotoxicity experiment showed that when the concentration ofnano-bismuth oxide particles was relatively low(1 living g/ml-40 living g/mL),the cellactivity still reached more than 80%regardless of the duration of action(24-48 hours)andthe cytotoxicity was relatively low.The direct killing experiment results showed that bismuthoxide nanoparticles can directly interact with virus particles, and the inhibition rate of thevirus can reach more than 98%when 1 mg/mL is used. Moreover,at a higher concentration, the inhibition rate of the virus does not change significantly with the change of concentration. The experimental results of adding nanoparticles before virus exposure showed that thenano-bismuth oxide particles with a higher concentration of 10 mg/mL showed a better virusinhibition effect. The co-treatment of nanoparticles, viruses and cells showed that the effectof nanoparticles on the process of virus adsorption to host cells was weak. The experimental results show that the bismuth oxide nanoparticles prepared in thispaper can effectively inhibit the activity of influenza virus B,which provides a new idea forthe research and development of drugs for the prevention and treatment of influenza andother viral infections.Keyword Influenza Nanomaterial Bismuth oxide qRT-PCR Hemagglutination Antiviralactivity
