AbstractProject-based teaching is a teaching model to help students raise questions,explore problems,cultivate critical thinking and improve their ability of cooperationand practice.This research is based on the investigation of the current situation of newcurriculum reform in Xiapu County,Ningde,the methods of Questionnaire Survey,Literature Review and Case Analysis were adopted.In accordance with the content ofthe Ninth Grade Textbook,three cases of water composition,carbon dioxide,combustion and fire extinguishing were designed for project-based teaching practice.Research shows that students were significantly more willingness to participate indiscussions than before,their willingness for mutual cooperative learning is alsogetting stronger,and problem-solving skills and academic performance is alsosignificantly improved.Teachers become mentors and promoters of the project,guiding and motivating,promoting to help students to solve problems encountered inthe project,assisting students to solve the blind spots and dilemmas in the questions inlearning.To help students learn to ask questions effectively in class,so as tosuccessfully achieving the project goals.Key words:junior high school chemistry;classroom teaching;project learning;subject project
