Abstract Carbon nanotubes (CNTs)have led to many new technical developments andapplications such as being used for the modified electrodes due to their high chemical stability,high surfaceearea,unique electronic properties,and relatively high mechanical strength.Suchproperties of carbon nanotubes make them also extremely attractive for the task of electrochemicaldetection.Food safety is the common attention major problems around the world,is also related togovemments,international organizations,academic institutions,research hot spot.Food safety fastdetection techniques is the national implementation of environmental protection and food safetyplan important technical support,to realize the sustainable development of the society,safeguardthe people's health is of great significance.However,the traditional environment,food safetymonitoring method usually by offline analysis method,the defect is slow,complex operationanalysis and need expensive instruments,not suitable site monitoring and rapid on-line analysis,therefore,the study used in environmental and food poisonous and harmful pollutants in the rapid,accurate,sensitive,and convenient testing new method is necessary,sensitive,fast,safe,economicis the current food safety testing bottleneck restriction,and combined with the modem science andtechnology is one of the latest achievements in nanotechnology and nano materials,will be foodsafety testing development important way.This review carbon nanotubes in food analysis ofresearch and application,and in the fields.Key words:CNT:modified electrode:food analysis:food safety
