本科论文AbstractVocabulary is the basis of language use,therefore,the addition of accuraterate of English vocabulary in use is beneficial for improving junior high schoolstudents'learning ability,inspiring learning interest and strengthening learningconfidence.English teachers at home always adopt the traditional vocabularyteaching instructions.For instance,word-by-word explanation cannot arousestudents'initiative of vocabulary memory and make bad use of vocabulary,andstudents will be in a bind of frequent mistakes in vocabulary usage.In order to resolve the problem of vocabulary learning of junior high schoolstudents,many scholars at home and abroad came up with English vocabularylearning methods based on lexical chunks,and they insisted that lexical chunksare the foundation of English vocabulary learning.Lexical chunks are endowedwith lexis,grammar and function.Students cannot only enlarge vocabulary,butalso improve the accuracy of vocabulary usage by learning lexical chunks.Moreimportantly,the students cultivate the consciousness of autonomous learningEnglish from the period of junior high school.This paper utters the literature research method and is aimed at studying thelexical approach in English vocabulary teaching of junior high school,andhelping students master and use vocabulary and enhancing students'Englishlearning ability.First of all,this paper has described the theory of lexical chunksand researches on lexical approach at home and abroad;secondly,it has stressedthe importance of lexical approach,especially the benefit of developingstudents'English thinking model;Eventually,it has also offered the principles,measures as well as problems in the actual application of the lexical approach.In conclusion,the effective English vocabulary teaching of junior highschool is that teachers guide students to recognize chunks,to expand chunksthrough the relevant exercises and then show passages of high-frequency chunksso as to re-encounter lexical chunks,aiming to foster students'autonomy oflearning chunks.Key words:lexical chunks;English vocabulary teaching in Junior high school;independent learning
