从目的论看中国专利OTC说明书的翻译

本科论文AbstractTraditional Chinese medicine,as one of Chinese national quintessence,hasa long history and is an important carrier of China's history and culture.Inthousand years'development,it is totally different from western medicine,but iswell known by foreigners.Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)is one of theproducts of traditional Chinese medicine and has a unique effect on thetreatment of diseases.In recent years,with the development of economicglobalization and with the continuous exchange of culture between China andwest,Chinese medicine has gained a favor of foreign consumers,but manyshortages have been exposed in this process.The translation of medicineinstruction is a key issue that cannot be ignored.Therefore,how to accurately translate Chinese medicine instructions thatdeliver medicine information to doctors and patients abroad,and ensure thesafety and effectiveness of the use of Chinese medicine is an extremely difficulttask for current translators.On the base of Skopos theory,this thesis intends to do a detailed analysis ofthe translation of the instruction of Chinese patent OTCs and western OTCs byemploying the combination of theory and practice methods.In a word,through the analysis and comparison of the translations of theinstruction of Chinese patent and western OTCs based on Skopos theory,threetranslation methods are proposed:literal translation,free translation andtranslation conversion.This thesis also put forward translation method thatcombines literal translation and free translation when translating some medicinenames with Chinese characteristics.When translating drug names,translatorsshould pay attention to the reading habits of foreigners,so the language shouldbe concise.Hope to provide a certain reference for the translation of theinstruction of Chinese patent OTCs.Keywords:traditional Chinese medicine instructions (TCMD,Skopos theory,translation strategies
