ABSTRACTThis paper is to design a 1.5kW,1500r/min,220V,efficiency of 78%self-ventilatedcooling,shunt dc motor.The diameter and length of armature are preliminarilydetermined according to the empirical value of electromagnetic load,and the seriesare determined accordingly.Determine the main dimensions of armature windings,armature core and commutator and brush;Determine the size of each part of themagnetic circuit;Calculate no-load characteristic curve,armature reactiondemagnetization emf and determine the excitation winding;Calculate loss,efficiencyand operating characteristics.According to the rated data of the motor,the geometricdimensions and winding data related to electromagnetism are determined,and thecommutation parameters,working characteristics and temperature rise are calculated.Because good commutation is an important indicator of de motor operation,so in theelectromagnetic design,will be in the commutation design and determine the armaturewinding,commutator and stator design of each part of the emphasis on ensuring goodcommutation.In order to facilitate the organization of production,for small andmedium-sized DC motors are all the same purpose of various specifications into aseries,so the design will be considered from the whole series.Keywords:Shunt dc motor,electromagnetic design,magnetic circuit calculation
