AbstractIn order to research the effect of Chinese herbal medicine addition on glutathioneperoxidase (GPX)gene expression in Larimichthys crocea,by adding Radix Pseudostellariae,Codonopsis pilosula,Radix Astragali and other Chinese herbs to the basic feed of Rhubarb, different Chinese herbs were added to each experimental group, and feeding it for 30 days.Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR method was used to detect the effect of Chineseherbal medicine on the relative expression of GPx genes in the kidney of Rhubarb. From theresults, contrast with the control group, the expression of the gene decreased in differentdegrees in each experimental group (except E5 group),the most decreased expression in E3group (40%),followed by E2 group (31%),and the expression in E5 group increased 15%contrast with the control group, but every two set of data are almost identical, math ematicallyspeaking(P>0.05).The results of this study provide valuable data for the future application ofchinese herbal medicine added to large yellow croaker feed, and also provide a preliminaryresearch basis for chinese herbal medicine as an antioxidant enhancer for fish.Key words:Chinese herbal medicine additive;Larimichthyscrocea;Glutathioneperoxidase gene;Gene expression
