本科论文AbstractReading comprehension has always been a difficult and important part inhigh school English teaching.The term schema appeared as early as Kantsphilosophical works.In the study of modern psychology,Gestalt psychologywas the first to attach great importance to schema theory.While schema is theprior knowledge or background knowledge in the mind,and schema theory isBartlett stay 1970s It can be used in language understanding.Readers can fill inthe details of the text with the help of the activated knowledge structure inmemory,so as to achieve the purpose of reading comprehension.For a long time,due to the influence of traditional English teaching methods,vocabulary andgrammar have been regarded as the main teaching objectives.Neglecting thetraining of reading ability and the accumulation and application of schematheory,the result is poor reading comprehension.On the basis of expounding theschema theory and the important role of schema theory in English readingcomprehension,this paper puts forward some suggestions and methods to helpstudents use schema theory and improve their reading ability,so as to betterapply schema theory in English reading teaching practice in senior high schooland improve students'English reading level.Key Words:schema theory;English reading;reading skill
