本科论文AbstractWith the economic globalization and development at the full speed ofscience and technology,the importance of English is becoming increasinglyprominent.English competence becomes a necessary skill.Language learning isclosely linked with reading,especially in English learning.Reading is anecessary approach for English learners to acquire knowledge and strengthenknowledge.In the junior high school stage,enhancing students'reading ability isthe aim of teaching.At present,there are some shortcomings in English reading teaching injunior high school,such as students have less interest in English reading,thesingularity of teaching methods,and the dull teaching material.Therefore,it isurgent to alter the backward education method under the background of newcurriculum reform.The emergence of constructivism provides a new teachingconcept to guide English reading teaching in junior high school.As a newteaching form different from traditional teaching,constructivism emphasizes"student-centered"and it is widely used in the current education field.Based on the theory of constructivism,this paper first presents the basicviewpoints of constructivism and comes up with the corresponding teachingmodel.Secondly,it briefly introduces the cultivation of junior high schoolstudents'reading ability in the English teaching process.Finally,this paperanalyzes how to put this theory into reading teaching in junior high school.Thepaper persists in intergrading theory with practice,analyzes the implementationsteps of the theory in classroom teaching cases,and proposes effective measures.The study shows that the English reading teaching model on the groundsthat constructivism is more effective than traditional teaching methods inenhancing students'English reading ability and inspire students'reading interest.There are also many problems in the specific teaching practice,which need to becontinued to study.Keywords:constructivism;English reading teaching;apply
