本科论文AbstractWith the development of economic globalization,the number ofinternational crime is increasing in recent years.Therefore,international policecommunication and cooperation have become more essential than before.Thissets higher demands for the English level of Chinese police.There are two mainaspects in the study of domestic police English translation:public signs andpolice terms.Police terms are designed to meet the needs of the police.At lexical,syntactic,textual and other levels,police terms are closely related to the use oflanguage in specific activities such as public security administration,criminalinvestigation,exit and entry administration and so on,which are covered byforeign-related police work.Under the guidance of adaptation theory,this thesis will focus on someproblems in the translation of policing terms.Term translation as a majordifficulty in English translation,the translator will make mistakes in thetranslation of terms due to his carelessness.Some translation strategies based onadaptation theory are summarized through the study of these problems.Keywords:translation of police terms;adaptation theory;translation strategies
