Weld surface appearance detection based on laser rangingAbstractThe appearance of the welded surface is the most basic and importantcomponent to control the quality of the welding.There are clear standards for this inall industries.This paper measures the appearance of the geometry of the surface ofthe steel plate butt weld weld.Therefore,we designed a system for accurately measuring the appearance of thebutt weldsurface of the steel sheet using the principle of laser ranging.Read a large number of subjects,analyzes and study principles,advantages anddisadvantages,and use different methods of a leasehold field,and select a suitablemodule of a leasehold field by the accuracy,accuracy and range of required apps.Thedrive part of the system selects the right driver and a precision stepper motor.Designa stable,reliable and suitable laser scanning stand and serve as a platform forbuilding a scanning measurement system.The motor is measured by Labview andmyRIO control.By comparing images and practical operations,the validity andaccuracy of automatic laser measurement of the surface appearance of welds areverified.Keywords:Laser ranging、Weld surface appearance、Stepper motors、Labview、myRIO
