Parametric modeling of external turning tool based on Pro/EAbstractParametric modeling is to set up the model parameters and establish a relationshipbetween the parameters and the model,thereby forming a dynamic model,so that it has ahigher efficiency in the process of modification.Parametric modeling allows designers toparameterize all features of the product model according to their own design ideas,such asproduct size,position,and angle.Parameterizing these features can help designers more easilymodify the unreasonable size in the model and more intuitively see the changes after themodel is modified when testing the product,so as to design the ideal product.In this article,the parametric modeling of products that are more common in the actualproduction activities of external turning tools and often need to be changed in size is used tobriefly describe the help of parametric modeling on actual production activities.Theperformance of the turning tool is mainly determined by the angle of the turning tool,and theindexable turning tool often replaces the blade,so the parameters given in this design are therake angle,the back angle,the blade inclination angle,The main declination angle,the widthof the broken groove and the height and side length of the insert.Due to the wide variety ofexternal turning tools,only the six typical turning tools that are more common among theindexable external turning tools in the actual production activities are selected here forparametric modeling.They are:full-length broken grooved triangular indexable turning tool,half-length broken grooved triangular indexable turning tool,full-length broken groovedsquare indexable turning tool,half-length broken grooved square indexable turning tool.Sixkinds of turning tools with full-length broken groove diamond-shaped indexable turning tooland half-length broken groove diamond-shaped indexable turning tool.Finally,put the turningtool model into the parts library,which is convenient for the designer to manage the model.Keywords:Parametric modeling;structural design;indexable external turning tool model;parts library目录
