本科论文AbstractIn the current English Teaching in primary schools in China,thesignificance of reading teaching for the whole English teaching has graduallybeen attached importance to by English teachers.Teachers generally realize theimportance of reading for English learning,and also realize that the Englishreading habits of primary school students should be cultivated from the lowergrades.English picture books are becoming more popular among students andEnglish teachers because of their rich pictures and texts,simple language andhigh repetition rate.Picture books are in line with the psychologicalcharacteristics and cognitive level of primary school students,it is beneficial tostimulate students'interest in English reading and cultivate their reading habits.However,how to use English picture books more effectively to improvestudents'English reading ability,to cultivate their interest in English reading,and then improve their English learning level is still a subject worthy of study.Based on the analysis and understanding of the current situation at homeand abroad,this study combs out the main problems existing in the currentclassroom teaching of English picture books in primary schools.Through theanalysis and research of the current situation of English picture book readingteaching in primary schools,it provides some effective countermeasures forteachers to carry out English picture book reading teaching,so as to effectivelystimulate students'interest in reading,enable them to experience the pleasure ofreading,master the reading methods,and improve English literacy in anall-round way.Keywords:primary schools;English picture books;classroom teaching
