The Application of Multivariate Statistical Analysis in AgriculturalModernizationAbstract This thesis adopts the method of both principal component analysis and clusteranalysis to comprehensively measure the growth level of agricultural modemization in JiangsuProvince from the dimensions of agricultural modemization input,agricultural modemizationoutput,agricultural industrialization,farmers'modern living standard and agricultural sustainabledevelopment,with 12 indicators.For one thing,it evaluates and analyzes the growth trend ofagricultural modernization in Jiangsu Province from 2003 to 2018.The results show that yearsbefore 2010 have seen the modernized agriculture booming in Jiangsu Province,almost reachingthe peak.Then it has experienced three years of fluctuation,and the development level ofagricultural modernization tends to be stable after 2013.For another,through the analysis ofJiangsu's 13 prefecture level cities in terms of their agricultural modernized level,it is found thatSugian is on the top of the list,followed by Wuxi,Huai'an and Xuzhou,which belong to the stage ofbasically realizing agricultural modemization;Lianyungang,Suzhou,Nantong,Nanjing,Changzhou and Zhenjiang occupy the middle level,which belongs to the stage of initially realizingagricultural modernization;Yangzhou,Taizhou and Yancheng still have an uphill battle to fight inachieving agricultural modernization.Key words Jiangsu Province Agricultural Modemization Principal Component AnalysisCluster Analysis SPSS
