AbstractIn this era of rapid economic development,the traditional manual sorting method hasbeen unable to adapt to the development of modern society,the use of traditional manual tocarry out the statistical work of material classification,will increase the economic cost andlabor of the society.The traditional manual sorting method has been unable to adapt to thedevelopment of modern society,but also because of the negligence of the work caused bythe material omission and statistics.Instead,there is a mechanical way of independentsorting of materials.The function of the independent material-sorting system is designed andstudied with PLC as the core.The system mainly uses PLC products of Siemens fromhardware and software.In the design process,the system is analyzed and designed,andthen PLC is analyzed and selected.The hardware of this system mainly includes conveyorbelt,cylinder,sensor,PLC controller;the software includes system operation andprogramming.Independent sorting system improves the efficiency of material sorting andreduces the waste of human resources.Key words:PLC;material;sorting
