AbstractWith the pursuit of a better life quality and more interests in smart home gradually,intelligent appliances have entered into ordinary families and thus a centralized controlsystem for these appliances is essential.At the same time,smart phones have become anindispensable part of people's life for their improving performance and the rapid mobileinternet.Therefore they will play an important role in centralized control system of thesmart home in the future.Against such a backdrop,this paper studies the smart home control system usingsmart phones embedded with accelerometers and gyroscopes.The system selects anAndroid smart phone as the terminal to control applicances by recognizing users'gesture communicating via Wi-Fi.After a description of the research significance andstatus of the smart home control system,this paper introduces the Wi-Fi technology,gesture recognition and Web Service technology used to implement the system.Then,the paper analyzes the functional requirements of the system and gives the overalldesign of the whole system based on smart phones'accelerometers and gyroscopes,including network structure and architecture of the system.After that,this paper designsand implements each functional module,like appliances control module,accessequipment registration module,file sharing and interaction module,etc.and furtherdetails the hand gesture recognition algorithm used in the firtst module.In addition,thispaper describes the design and implementation of network services,commandinterpretation and command processing module on the server side.Finally,the functional modules are verified by the black box testing,while the Wi-Fi network loss rate and gesture recognition rate are tested by the experiment,of whichresults are analyzed in the end.Keywords:AndroidSmart Home Wi-FiHand Gesture RecognitionSmart Phone
